Shab e Meraj Story
Once upon a time, Allah told the angel Jibrael to take the Prophet Muhammad on a special journey to the sky. When the Prophet was asleep, Jibrael woke him up. Together, they went to a beautiful animal named Buraq. Buraq then carried the Prophet to a place called Masjid al-Aqsa.
While traveling to Masjid al-Aqsa, the angel Jibrael stopped Buraq at many special places. He asked the Prophet Muhammad to pray at these places because important things happened there. The Prophet prayed near the tree where Allah spoke to Prophet Musa, at Mount Sinai where the Torah was revealed, at the grave of Prophet Musa, and in Bethlehem where Prophet Isa was born. Journey of Shab e Meraj
After visiting Masjid al-Aqsa, the Holy Prophet started his journey to Heaven with the angel Jibrael. On his way, he met eight prophets in the seven heavens, and they welcomed him warmly. They said, “Welcome, O pious Prophet and pious brother!”
Here are the prophets he met on each heaven:
First Heaven: Adam
Second Heaven: Isa and Yahya
Third Heaven: Yusuf
Fourth Heaven: Idris
Fifth Heaven: Haroon
Sixth Heaven: Musa
Seventh Heaven: Ibrahim
After passing through these heavens, the Prophet had the great honor of meeting Allah, a privilege not granted to any other prophet except him. When they reached Al Bait Al Mamur (the house of Allah at the top of all heavens), the Prophet asked Jibrael about the place, and Jibrael explained that it was a sacred place where 70,000 angels pray daily, and whoever visits it once will never have the chance to visit again.
